Sources: Chelsea ownership future not certain

Chelsea's ownership future is uncertain, with sources telling ESPN that minority stakeholders Mark Walter and Todd Boehly may be willing to sell their combined 25.66% stakes to majority owner Clearlake Capital, which holds a 61.5% share in the club. Relations between Clearlake and the other investors, particularly Boehly, deteriorated in 2024 when each side sought to buy the other out. Walter and Boehly are said to value the club at approximately double the £2.5 billion ($3.4B) price the consortium paid for Chelsea in 2022.
