Sources: Jeanie out as Busses sell stake in Lakers
The Buss family has agreed to sell its remaining 17.8% ownership stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to incoming majority owners Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, sources told ESPN on Monday. As a result, Jeanie Buss will no longer qualify as governor of the team, since NBA rules require controlling owners to hold at least 15% of a franchise. Jeanie Buss had served as Lakers governor since 2013, when she took over following the death of her father Jerry Buss.
