South Africa chooses Durban as preferred host city for 2036 or 2040 Olympic bids

South Africa has selected Durban as its preferred host city for a potential bid to host either the 2036 or 2040 Olympic Games. The proposal is expected to take the form of a multi-city bid, meaning other South African cities would also be involved alongside Durban as the primary candidate city. This marks a significant step in South Africa's ambitions to bring the Summer Olympics to the African continent.
