South Africa’s le Clos breaks Commonwealth Games record with 19th medal
South African swimmer Chad le Clos became the most decorated male athlete in Commonwealth Games history on July 25, 2026, by winning a bronze medal in the men's 4×100-metre freestyle relay. The bronze was his 19th Commonwealth Games medal, surpassing the previous record held by Australian shooter Phil Adams and English shooter Mick Gault. Le Clos won the medal alongside teammates Pieter Coetze, Guy Brooks, and Ruard van Renen.
