South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart has been suspended indefinitely by coach Shane Beamer after punching Alabama tight end Josh Ford in the helmet during the fourth quarter of a 49-18 loss in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, September 27, 2026. Stewart received a personal foul penalty for the incident and will miss the upcoming home game against No. 24 Kentucky. Beamer indicated he would decide early in the week whether and when Stewart, a projected first-round NFL draft pick and AP preseason All-America first-team selection, would return to the team.
