Southampton manager Tonda Eckert given six-week suspended ban for Spygate scandal
Southampton manager Tonda Eckert has received a six-week suspended ban and a £28,000 fine from the Football Association following his role in the Spygate scandal, in which the club was found to have spied on three opponents. The punishment, which Eckert accepted by admitting the FA's misconduct charges, is suspended until the end of next season, allowing him to remain in the dugout. Southampton had previously been penalised with a four-point deduction and expulsion from last season's Championship playoffs as a result of the scandal.
