A Southampton first-team analyst was allegedly caught recording Middlesbrough's training sessions ahead of their Championship play-off semi-final first leg, in what has been dubbed 'Spygate'. Middlesbrough are pushing for Southampton to be expelled from the play-offs, which carry a prize of approximately £200 million for promotion to the Premier League. Southampton are requesting additional time for the investigation into the scandal to be completed.
