St. Louis signs new four-year contract with Canadiens

Martin St. Louis, 51, has signed a new four-year contract to continue as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, replacing a deal that had one year remaining. Under St. Louis, Montreal posted a 48-24-10 record last season, finishing third in the Atlantic Division and reaching the Eastern Conference Final before losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, in five games. St. Louis was also named a finalist for the 2024-25 Jack Adams Award (NHL coach of the year), finishing third in voting behind Spencer Carbery and Scott Arniel.
