Stanton's return to Yankees delayed by injury setback
New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, 36, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a left calf strain originally sustained on April 24 at Houston, after feeling a twinge while running bases during the team's recent homestand. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed the setback on Saturday in Toronto, stating that Stanton's anticipated early-homestand return is now in jeopardy and that additional imaging may be required. The injury news compounds the Yankees' personnel problems, as Aaron Judge is also on the injured list with a stress fracture in his right first rib expected to keep him out until July or August, and outfielder Trent Grisham was placed on the 10-day IL on Saturday.
