Statement: Leicester Tigers star forced to retire aged 23

Leicester Tigers hooker Finn Theobald-Thomas, aged 23, has been forced to retire from rugby immediately on medical grounds, the club confirmed on 7 October 2026. Theobald-Thomas made 33 appearances for Leicester after joining ahead of the 2023-24 season, having previously come through the Worcester Warriors academy and represented England U20s in the 2022 and 2023 Six Nations Under-20s Championships and the 2023 World Rugby U20 Championship. The Rugby Players Association and Leicester Tigers will continue to support him through his transition into retirement.
