Steiner: MotoGP Should Learn from Formula 1, Not Copy It
Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner, who led the team from 2016 to 2023, has shared his thoughts on MotoGP's growth potential ahead of the British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Silverstone. Steiner, who now serves as CEO of the Tech3 MotoGP team after leading a consortium takeover in mid-2025, believes Liberty Media β which acquired MotoGP in mid-2025 β can transform the championship similarly to how it grew Formula 1, but warns MotoGP must develop its own identity rather than simply copying F1's blueprint. He compared MotoGP's current position to where Formula 1 was approximately 20 years ago, citing immense untapped potential in the sport.
