Steve Borthwick has finally put his England players on notice - now it's time they delivered if they want to be anywhere near the plane to the World Cup, writes ALEX BYWATER

England rugby head coach Steve Borthwick has issued a clear message to his squad that players must perform and deliver results or risk losing their place ahead of World Cup selection. According to Daily Mail's Alex Bywater, Borthwick has bucked a trend of modern international coaches by openly placing his players on trial rather than shying away from selection pressure. The approach signals a more demanding accountability framework as England look to build a competitive squad for the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
