Stone signs 2-year, $18 million contract with Golden Knights

Mark Stone, the 34-year-old captain and forward for the Vegas Golden Knights, signed a two-year, $18 million contract ($9 million AAV) on Saturday, beginning next season. The deal keeps Stone from becoming an unrestricted free agent after the current season, which is the final year of his previous eight-year, $76 million contract signed in 2019. Last season, Stone recorded 73 points (28 goals, 45 assists) in 60 games and added 12 points in 17 playoff games as Vegas reached the Stanley Cup Final before losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in six games.
