Stuart Grehan crowned Amateur Champion at Royal Liverpool

Ireland's Stuart Grehan won the 2026 Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool on Saturday, defeating world number one Matt Moloney of the United States 1Up in the 36-hole final. The Offaly golfer overcame a three-down deficit during the match, including a crucial eagle on the par-five 26th hole, to edge past his American opponent on the final hole. With the victory, Grehan secured a place in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale next month, as well as invitations to the 2027 Masters and US Open.
