Sunderland pen incorrect against Arsenal - panel

A Premier League Key Match Incidents panel has unanimously ruled that the penalty awarded against Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa for holding Sunderland's Dan Ballard during a September 12 match was incorrect, finding that Ballard had pulled Konsa onto him. The panel did, however, give majority 3-2 backing to VAR Stuart Attwell's decision not to intervene, concluding it was not a clear and obvious error. Arsenal won the match 2-0, with goalkeeper David Raya saving the resulting spot-kick taken by Enzo Le Fee, despite manager Mikel Arteta's fury over the original decision.
