Tadej Pogacar demolishes Tour de France rivals on the Tourmalet to take ominous lead

Tadej Pogacar won stage six of the 2026 Tour de France, soloing to the summit of the Col du Tourmalet on a 17km climb before continuing to victory in Gavarnie-Gèdre. The four-time champion took an emphatic overall lead in the race, with only Jonas Vingegaard able to give any chase on the climb. French President Emmanuel Macron was in attendance to witness Pogacar's dominant performance.
