Tadej Pogacar pips British trio to opening stage victory in ominous start to Vuelta a Espana

Tadej Pogacar won the opening stage of the Vuelta a España, claiming the first red jersey of the race. British rider Josh Tarling narrowly missed out on an emotional stage victory, finishing just behind the overwhelming race favourite.
