Tadej Pogacar requires surgery after crashing out of Vuelta a España

Tadej Pogacar, the five-time Tour de France champion and race leader, crashed out of the Vuelta a España during stage eight on Saturday with 31km remaining. He sustained a broken collarbone requiring surgery, along with a concussion and a stable neck fracture. The crash ended his bid to complete a career grand slam of all three major cycling tours.
