Tadej Pogacar’s Tour de France mastery leaves rivals in his wake and asking: ‘What now?’

Tim Merlier of Soudal-Quick Step won stage seven of the Tour de France in a sprint finish at Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne. Tadej Pogacar retained his overall lead over Jonas Vingegaard following his dominant performance in the previous mountain stage to Gavarnie-Gèdre. The peloton appeared subdued as the race moved through Gascony toward the Atlantic coast, still absorbing the impact of Pogacar's commanding display in the Pyrenees.
