Tamberi triumphant as records fall at city event

At the Wanda Diamond League city event in Katowice's market square on Saturday, Gianmarco Tamberi won the high jump by clearing 2.31m on his third attempt, claiming his first Diamond League victory since the 2024 Final in Brussels. In the long jump, Alyssa Jones stole victory on the final jump by matching Agate de Sousa's meeting record of 6.98m, with Jones winning via a superior second-best jump of 6.85m. De Sousa and Monae' Nichols qualified for the Diamond League Final through their placings, while Jones finished as first reserve in seventh place overall.
