Taylor Fritz among three withdrawals from the Italian Open as retiring player steps in
Taylor Fritz has withdrawn from the 2026 Italian Open due to tendonitis in his right knee, an injury that has plagued him since early in the season. The withdrawal follows previous pullouts from tournaments in Munich and Madrid, making Rome the third consecutive event he has missed during the clay-court swing. Two other ATP players have also withdrawn from the Italian Open, with a retiring player stepping in to fill one of the vacated spots.
