Team Scotland announce athletics squad for Commonwealth Games 2026
Team Scotland has announced a 39-strong athletics squad for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, comprising 28 newly selected athletes plus previously announced picks including Jake Wightman, Neil Gourley, Megan Keith, and eight para-athletes led by Paralympic champion Ben Sandilands. Veteran athletes Eilish McColgan and hammer thrower Chris Bennett will compete in their fourth Games, while Laura Muir and Nick Percy make their third appearances. The squad also features debutants such as newly-crowned British champion Sarah Calvert and long jumper Stephen Mackenzie, who set a new Scottish record of 8.15m at the British Championships last weekend.
