Tearful Jack Draper out of Canadian Open as chronic elbow injury appears to cause more pain

Jack Draper, the 24-year-old British world No. 4 and 2025 Indian Wells champion, was eliminated in the first round of the ATP Masters 1000 Canadian Open in Montreal, losing 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 to France's Térence Atmane (world No. 46). Draper was visibly emotional during the match as chronic bone bruising in his left elbow, which has troubled him since the 2025 clay-court season, appeared to flare up again, with his serve speed dropping noticeably. The defeat continues a difficult stretch for Draper, who has played only intermittently since last year's U.S. Open and had already withdrawn from the previous week's D.C. Open due to the same injury.
