Tennessee freshman Chase Kyes qualifies for U.S. Open as golf amateur

Tennessee University freshman golfer Chase Kyes, 20, has qualified for the U.S. Open after finishing tied for fourth at the Final Qualifying event at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Georgia, shooting rounds of 67 and 66 for an 11-under 133. He was one of 43 players to qualify from 10 sites across the country on June 8, earning a spot in the 156-player field. The U.S. Open is scheduled to begin June 18 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
