Jan-Lennard Struff, 36, reached the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of his career at Wimbledon 2026 after Hubert Hurkacz retired with a left hip injury while trailing 4-2 in the fifth set. The match finished 3-6, 6-7(5), 7-6(2), 7-5, 4-2 ret., with Struff having come back from two sets down. The world No. 74 becomes the oldest man in the Open Era to reach a maiden major quarterfinal on his 47th Grand Slam appearance, and will next face either top seed Jannik Sinner or qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki.
