British tennis player Jodie Burrage received death threats and extensive abuse on social media after losing her first WTA main-draw singles match in 16 months. She was defeated 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 by Vaishnavi Adkar in the round of 32 at the Chennai Open on Tuesday. Burrage publicly shared a recording of the abusive Instagram messages she received following the defeat.
