Coco Gauff, the No. 4 seed, defeated compatriot Ann Li 6-1, 7-6(3) on Tuesday to reach the Cincinnati Open last 16, lifting her 2026 overall win total to 36 and her WTA 1000 wins this season to 21. Only Elena Rybakina, with 24 WTA 1000 wins, has more at that level in 2026. Gauff will next face Czech Marie Bouzkova, the No. 22 seed, who beat Iva Jovic 7-6(0) 7-6(5) to reach her first WTA 1000 Round of 16 of the season.
