Thames Valley Harriers win National Athletics League opener

Thames Valley Harriers (TVH) won the opening match of the National Athletics League Premiership season, held at Moorways Stadium in Derby on May 23, defeating rivals Harrow by approximately 100 points despite Harrow simultaneously fielding athletes at the European Champion Clubs Cup in Spain. Key performances included Nick Percy throwing the hammer 58.67m for Harrow and Jessica Lee winning the long jump with 6.12m for Thames Valley, while Jody Smith's 10.38 100m win proved pivotal in TVH taking control mid-afternoon. Newcomers Tonbridge also competed, with Ted Higgins posting a 1:51.46 800m victory, though they faced a tough task in the top flight.
