The 11ish climbs that will decide the Tour de France 2026
The 2026 Tour de France will feature approximately 11 key climbs across five mountain ranges — the Pyrenees, Massif Central, Vosges, Jura, and Alps — that are expected to determine the overall winner. The race spans 21 stages and over 3,000km, with the first major mountain day arriving on Stage 6, a 186.2km route from Pau to Gavarnie-Gèdre. Notable climbs include the Col d'Aspin, which has featured 36 times in Tour history, and the Col du Tourmalet, both tackled from reversed directions compared to 2025.
