Ireland's Stuart Grehan won The 131st Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool, defeating Matt Moloney by one hole in a 36-hole final to claim the biggest victory of his career. The 33-year-old secured invitations to The Open, The Masters, and the US Open as a result of his victory. Grehan becomes the first Irish winner of the Amateur Championship since James Sugrue.
