The intrigue sparked by Red Bull's Miami sidepod design

Red Bull introduced a significant sidepod redesign at the 2026 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, drawing attention from rivals across the grid. The updated RB22 bodywork reintroduces a 'waterslide' upper surface previously used by multiple teams, with the outer sidepod edge pushed to the absolute limit of the allowed reference volumes, widening the recessed channel atop the bodywork. This new sidepod design works in conjunction with a new floor and updated sidepod inlets, and arrived alongside other notable updates including a rear 'flip' wing dubbed the 'Macarena' wing.
