Owner James Dolan had publicly stated in a January 5 radio interview on WFAN that reaching the Finals was an absolute requirement, and winning it was expected, despite the team being in the midst of a three-game losing streak at the time. Dolan, 70, made those comments during his first media appearance in two years.
