The night West Indies superstar swung by to visit

Cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers, who died recently, is being remembered by Richard Bond of Norwich, who recalls an extraordinary visit Sobers made to his family's terraced home in 1974. The visit came after Sobers played a match with his Nottinghamshire team at the Lakenham ground in Norfolk against a Minor Counties North XI in June 1974. Richard, then 12 years old and captain of his school cricket team, was woken up by his parents to meet one of the world's most famous cricketers in their front room.
