The 2026 Open Championship (154th edition) gets underway at Royal Birkdale in Southport, Merseyside, with Royal Birkdale member Matthew Baldwin hitting the opening tee shot at 6:35am on Thursday. World number one Scottie Scheffler is grouped with Bryson DeChambeau and Tyrrell Hatton in the morning wave, while Rory McIlroy tees off alongside Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick on the opposite side of the draw. Last-Chance Qualifier winner Joe Dean is also among the early starters, with live coverage beginning at 6:30am on Sky Sports Golf.
