The Open: Donald Trump's Turnberry Golf Club misses out on selection as Royal Lytham is named as 2028 venue

The R&A has named Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club as the host venue for the 156th Open Championship in 2028, bypassing Donald Trump's Turnberry Golf Club despite Trump's long-standing hopes of returning the Scottish course to The Open rota. The 2025 Open will be held at Royal Birkdale, followed by St Andrews in 2027. Trump's Turnberry Golf Club has no scheduled appearance on The Open rota for the foreseeable future.
