The Open: Sergio Garcia misses out on Open qualification again

Sergio Garcia, the 46-year-old 2017 Masters champion, will miss the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale for the third time in four years after failing to qualify at West Lancashire. Despite shooting an impressive 60 in his first round, Garcia carded a three-over 75 in his second round, finishing well outside the five qualifying spots available at that venue. Fellow contenders Danny Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, and Matt Wallace also missed out on qualification.
