The set-up error behind Quartararo’s British GP penalty
Fabio Quartararo received a 16-second penalty at the MotoGP British Grand Prix at Silverstone, dropping him to 16th place and costing him his originally scored points. The penalty was not for tyre pressure violations but because his front tyre pressure sensor data was never recorded by the monitoring system, as the sensor ID had not been registered in the receiver database. This was due to a procedural error by Quartararo's Yamaha team in configuring the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) supplied by French company OnRace Motorsports before the race.
