Thomas Castellanos throws 5 TD passes as No. 13 Texas Tech holds off West Virginia 53-48

Thomas Castellanos threw for a career-high five touchdowns, including the go-ahead score to Kenny Johnson with 2:44 remaining, to lead No. 13 Texas Tech to a 53-48 victory over West Virginia on Saturday, November 7. The high-scoring Big 12 contest, described as an 'old-school offensive slugfest,' extended into early Sunday morning in Lubbock, Texas. West Virginia quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. led the opposing offense under head coach Rich Rodriguez, but it was not enough to overcome Texas Tech's late-game heroics.
