Toews could sign 1-day contract to retire as Blackhawk
Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson confirmed Friday that the team would 'love' to have Jonathan Toews sign a one-day contract to retire as a Blackhawk, though nothing is officially planned yet. Toews, 38, retired from the NHL on June 19 after 16 seasons, including 15 with Chicago, where he won three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015) before leaving following the expiration of his contract in 2022-23. Davidson's comments came during a press conference for Patrick Kane, who signed a two-year, $16 million deal to return to Chicago.
