Tom Kim 18 holes away from gold at Asian Games, military exemption

Tom Kim, 24, holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the men's individual stroke play golf event at the Asian Games in Japan, after shooting a 5-under 65 (reaching 12-under 198) at Kasugai Country Club on Friday. This comes just days after he went 4-1-0 at the Presidents Cup, including a Sunday singles victory over Wyndham Clark. A gold medal would be particularly significant as it would grant Kim a military service exemption in South Korea, and he is one of three male Korean golfers competing in the event.
