Tom Pidcock surges up standings while Mauro Schmid wins Tour de France stage 13

Swiss rider Mauro Schmid claimed his debut Tour de France victory on stage 13, finishing in Belfort after a mass breakaway formed on the roads of the Jura and Doubs ahead of the Ballon d'Alsace climb. British rider Tom Pidcock was a key instigator of that breakaway and briefly climbed as high as second place in the general classification as a result. Pidcock ultimately settled into fourth place overall following the stage.
