
Top jockey Jim Crowley retires at 48 after horror fall at York led to five operations
Jim Crowley, 48, has announced his retirement from horse racing following a horror fall at York that required five operations. The jockey, who served as retained rider for Shadwell, made the announcement at the end of the Qatar Goodwood Festival. Crowley was notably associated with sprinter Battaash, whom he rode to a record four victories in the King George Stakes.
