Top Rank Wins Haney vs. Davis Purse Bid With $8.55 Million Offer

Top Rank won the purse bid for the WBO welterweight title fight between undefeated champion Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) and mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis (15-0, 10 KOs) with a winning offer of $8,550,000, submitted at the WBO's headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Thursday. The only other bidder was Takeover Promotions, founded by Teofimo Lopez, which submitted a significantly lower bid of $2,350,000. Top Rank has indicated plans to stage the fight on October 3, with Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas among the potential venues.
