Top tennis players could boycott French Open over prize money: Sabalenka
Women's world number one Aryna Sabalenka, backed by Coco Gauff, has threatened a boycott of the French Open over prize money disputes, with the warning issued on Tuesday 6 May 2026. Despite Roland Garros organisers offering a roughly 10 percent increase to an overall prize pot of 61.7 million euros ($72.1m), top players argue their share would still represent less than 15 percent of tournament revenue. Several leading players released a joint statement demanding fairer prize money distribution at the clay-court Grand Slam.
