Tortorella won't return as Golden Knights coach
John Tortorella will not return as head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights, general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced on Tuesday. The 67-year-old took over from Bruce Cassidy on March 29 with eight games left in the regular season, going 7-0-1 before guiding Vegas to the Stanley Cup Final, where they lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in six games. Tortorella, who won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004 and holds a career record of 777-648-166, leaves Vegas as one of three NHL teams currently without a head coach.
