Toto Wolff 'fired' Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg claim addressed

Nico Rosberg has responded to claims made by Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff that he was prepared to fire both Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton during their intense 2016 Formula 1 title rivalry. Rosberg acknowledged that a discussion between Wolff and then-Mercedes chief Dieter Zetsche did take place, but expressed doubt that the two drivers would actually have been dismissed. Instead of firing them, Wolff reportedly had both drivers sign a contract making them personally liable for the costs of any crash damage they caused to each other.
