Tour de France 2026: Wout van Aert to miss event with elbow injury

Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert, 31, will miss the 2026 Tour de France due to an elbow injury sustained in a training crash before the Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes stage race. The injury subsequently developed an infection and has not healed in time for the event. Van Aert, who won Paris-Roubaix in April 2026, is a key rider for Team Visma alongside four-time Grand Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard.
