Tour de France Femmes: Vollering victorious on stage five as Ferrand-Prévot’s defence unravels

Demi Vollering won stage five of the Tour de France Femmes, outsprinting overall race leader Marlen Reusser on the final steep gradients of Mont Brouilly to claim the fourth Tour stage win of her career. The two, along with Kasia Niewiadoma, broke clear of the peloton in the Beaujolais vineyards. Defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot struggled further, losing additional ground to her main rivals.
