Tour de France Femmes: Vollering’s late escape for yellow leaves Niewiadoma fuming

Demi Vollering launched a late attack on the penultimate stage of the Tour de France Femmes to seize the overall lead from Kasia Niewiadoma by eight seconds, with one stage remaining. Vollering gained the advantage on the final climb of the Cote de la Ginestière before extending her lead on the descent to the finish on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. It was Vollering's fifth stage victory and fifth yellow jersey in the Tour de France Femmes, while Niewiadoma claimed her team had been blocked during the stage.
