Tour de France Stage 3 Preview

Stage 3 of the 2026 Tour de France, held on Monday July 6, was a largely gentle mountain stage won by a breakaway group featuring Alex Molenaar (Caja Rural), Frank van den Broek (Picnic-PostNL), and Felix Engelhardt (Jayco), with Molenaar taking the polka-dot jersey. Race leader contender Isaac del Toro suffered a mechanical with 60km remaining and was controversially left by the first UAE team car, before allegedly receiving illegal assistance from Visma and Ineos vehicles, though no penalty was issued. Del Toro managed to chase back to the peloton in time, avoiding any significant time loss.
